COSMOS

Beginning with the Big Bang theory, cosmology investigates the origin of the universe. It is the scientific discipline dedicated to understanding the universe's origin, structure, evolution, and ultimate fate. Cosmology is a depiction of the fundamental order and harmony within the universe. Riding the waves of continual change, Sandshaped taps into the mysteries of the Cosmos for their Spring Summer collection, their most comprehensive yet. Drawing inspiration from the Cosmos’ natural ability to scatter light, this season features vibrant acid hues, zesty citrus shades, and natural fibers like silk and cotton.

In a creative collaboration, Sandshaped has joined forces with multidisciplinary artist Annelie Solis, who is utilizing paints crafted from earth collected in Trinidad’s mountains and rocks from Tobago’s rivers. Creating silk midis, shirt dresses, and sophisticated silk shirt sets adorned with stars and sun motifs that reflect the artist’s signature approach of pigment foraging & paint alchemy. Building on their popular swimwear line, the collection now includes a range of striking new options for the beach or poolside.

Immersed in the luxury of sunlit moments, we reconnect with the universe as the long days slowly transition to dawn. Celebrating light and life, Cosmos revels in the natural renewal of our most cherished source of vitality.

ARTIST COLLAB: ANNELIE SOLIS

Annelie Solis is an artist from Trinidad and Tobago. Her mostly self-studied journey encompasses a wide range of creative disciplines—from art photography, to jewelry-making to various styles of painting—ultimately leading to the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts in London, where she received an MA for her work on miniature painting, ancient astrology and cosmology. Since graduating in 2020, she has continued deepening her studies in Hellenistic astrology, and currently specializes in Natal Chart paintings and natural pigment foraging.
